Jupe, let's house the Earthlings and do the Earth a solid while we’re at it.
WHAT PROBLE ARE WE SOLVING?
1.5 billion people don't have access to adequate housing. That's a lot of people without a solid roof or a soft bed. Moreover, there's no way for 70 million of them to shelter temporarily when there's a hurricane, fire, or they are pushed out of their homes by political or climate crises. It’s a big problem and it’s worth working on.
DOING THE EARTH A SOLID
Directly tied to our mission around housing is our mission for the wider Earth where all these humans, for the time being, reside. The infrastructure associate with building homes and the wider built environment contributes almost 50% of all CO2. What if we could rethink infrastructure for our houses? We now produce fossil fuel-driven power, gather non-renewable water sources, connect our internet to cables, and pour concrete foundations. What if none of that were attached to the grid, could pop up anywhere, and move to anywhere?
WHAT WE’RE BUILDING
We have built out a hardware and full stack software platform to go after the shelter problem for the world. Our platform allows communities to move, scale and pop up anywhere on the face of the planet. We call this "universal autonomous housing" (UAH).
Our team has taken the first step towards this goal by making a flat packed structure that can ship anywhere, 12 on a single truck. Our core technology is in the 'chassis' system and the community-based software and IOT that allows us to modularize to all kinds of use cases.
Our MVP product is a solar-powered tent structure that pops up in a few hours, anywhere, and the software to find your happy place in nature.
This isn't vaporware - we've built and deployed over 200 off grid, high design deep nature rooms to over 15 sites.
But at our core, we're not building out just a few tents. We're building out a shelter platform and the software that will enable the universal autonomous housing vision. Our one chassis can be reconfigured to be a garden, a bathroom, a relief shelter, even a ball pit =) We'll also need satellite internet, like SpaceX's Starlink, so you can take a zoom call from anywhere from one of our zoom rooms (or saunas).
Longer term we want to get to helping the world with an entire city on a ship. We'll be able to shift these around the world and reconfigure the fleet to whatever the greatest needs are on the planet at any place and time, whether that means providing dignified housing for refugees, or accommodating remote workers who want to stay in warm climates year round.

Plastics have become part of our daily life and are used by everyone. They are used in our packaging, restaurants, hospitals, and even our clothes. The production of plastic has grown eight percent per year for decades, and since its creation, 8.3 billion metric tons of plastic have been produced. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported: "every bit of plastic ever made still exists."
The world has become dependent on plastic products due to their durability, strength, and ability to be formed into everyday-use items. However, the problem is that petroleum-based plastics don't break down; they break apart into smaller pieces called micro-plastics which eventually end up in our landfills and waterways. When these tiny particles enter our waterways, our wildlife can confuse them for food. Fish eat microplastics; humans eat fish. You see the problem.
In the world of traditional petroleum-based plastic, there are many different types of plastics used in various applications. You'll likely see some writing and symbols on the bottom of your plastic cups and bottles. These symbols and abbreviations represent the type of plastic used and how many times it has been recycled, if at all. The most popular and commonly used plastics are Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene Terephthalate (PETE or PET).
Alegria Farms
Montana, USA

Soil is, and has always been, our human connection to the natural world. Food is the transport system for the light (biophotons) that we all run on.
According to recent studies, humans may have only 60 harvests left due to the degradation of Earth’s most critical resource, soil. Specifically, the toxification and destruction of the billions of microbes in the soil that ultimately protect us from disease are being decimated, creating generations of humans that are no longer resilient.
To thrive we need clean air, water, and healthy soil to defend ourselves against the pandemic rise in auto-immune diseases. The Heritage farmlands of NW Montana provide the perfect opportunity to produce superfoods and take advantage of the rich soil, clean air and abundance of fresh clean water and open space.
Alegría Fresh and our team at Alegría Soil Partners are leading pioneers in developing the world’s finest biologically-rich soils, amending deficient soils and employing zero waste, carbon negative food production systems.
Over the last twelve years, the company has assembled a team of leading biochemists, agronomists, mineral companies, natural compost producers, integrated physicians, and regenerative chefs to lead our mission to change the conversation surrounding food.
Alegría continues to develop influential media channels that espouse the importance of maintaining gut health, understanding how critical it is to know your farmer and the soil and how your food is grown. Most importantly, we teach how to source and prepare foods that protect from disease and strengthen immune resilience through consumption of freshly harvested, locally grown, light-filled food.

Malta
-
We're on a mission to accelerate the future of energy storage.
Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the Malta team demonstrates proven leadership in the energy sector. Our innovative market strategies and robust engineering talent are making a difference in the deployment of industrial-scale power generation systems. Malta bolsters its core team with a world-class syndicate of investors and energy industry partners to build and operate its electro-thermal energy storage systems.
From Theory to a Successful Proof of Concept
Malta’s system is built upon well-established principles in thermodynamics, storing energy as heat (in molten salt) and as cold (in a chilled liquid). The idea is the brainchild of a Nobel Prize-winning Stanford University physics professor, who theorized the fastest way to transition to a decarbonized electric system is to integrate existing technology and supply chains. Malta was incubated at X, Alphabet’s Moonshot Factory, which identified the Malta system as a product that had the potential to unlock a wealth of inexpensive clean energy to address global energy demands. The team at X designed and tested individual system components and determined the Malta technology can work in the real world at a competitive price-point. Malta was formed as an independent company, outside of Alphabet, in December 2018.
Today: Acceleration
Today Malta is in advanced discussions with a more than a dozen utilities in Europe, and the Americas over plans to deploy Malta’s long duration energy storage technology. As the urgency of the energy transition grows, interest in Malta’s ready-to-market, thermo-electric energy storage solution has skyrocketed. Meanwhile, Malta’s talented scientific and engineering team are establishing, testing, and refining rigorous design standards and associated supply chain relationships to prepare the company to scale rapidly over the next three-to-five years. In 2022, Malta’s board issued a directive to management to find, hire and unleash the best and brightest available talent in energy, business and tech. A quick scan of recent Malta news shows this directive is already fully in action.
